Evelyn (Kabitsis) Zemietra

Evelyn Zemietra, (nee Kabitsis), 74, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, April 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Zemietra lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to Jersey City, NJ. She has lived in Kearny for the last fifty years.

She was an Administrative Assistant at the Veterans Affairs office in Newark, NJ for twenty years before retiring two years ago. Prior she was a bank teller at the Bank of New York in Lyndhurst, NJ.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, John Zemietra, two daughters, Eva Riena (Richard) and Theresa Zinna, one sister, Peggy Anacker, her daughter-in-law Deborah Zemietra and four grandchildren, Alyssa Zemietra, Michael Zinna and Colton and Garrick Riena.

She was predeceased by her son, John Zemietra, Jr. in 2023 and one brother, Spyro Kabitsis in 2021.
