Nicholas Paone

Nicholas Paone, 90, was born on May 19, 1933, in Harrison, NJ to Sam and Pauline Paone. He grew up with six siblings, three boys and three girls. He lived in Harrison and worked as a carpenter by trade. In 1973, he married Carol Melnick (Mueller) and along with her two boys, Michael and Tom, they moved to Kearny in a house he had built and purchased several years prior. In 1974, they welcomed their daughter, Laura and 10 years later in 1984, they welcomed another daughter, Jennifer. He retired from carpentry in 1995. Nick, Carol and Jennifer moved to Dover, Delaware in 2002, where he passed away on April 9, 2024.

He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Rosemarie Marinaro (Matty), Frances Taylor (Billy) and Gloria McConnville (Frank) and brother Fred Paone. He is survived by his wife, Carol, four children, Michael Melnick (Ellen), Tom Melnick (Tammy), Laura Fenners (Marc) and Jennifer Martins (Paul). Grandchildren Nicole, Glenn (Moriah), Kaitlyn (Chris), Kierstin (Gannon), Samantha, Skylar, Tommy, Lucas and Jason and great-grandchildren Greyson, Hazel, Wrenley and Audrey. Brothers Sam Paone (Judy) and Don Paone (Betty Ann), sisters-in-law Arlene Paone, Barbara Elsman, Virginia Mosca (John) and Donna Mueller and brothers-in-law George Mueller (Heather) and Paul Mueller (Joan) and several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m.
