Mary A. Boyce

Mary A. Boyce, 88, “Lovey”, of Berkeley Township NJ, formerly of Kearny, NJ passed away peacefully at home on January 14th, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove drive, Kearny on Tuesday, January 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday morning, January 21 at 9:00 a.m. then to St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Kearny where a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Mary emigrated to the United Sates in 1957 at the Age of 19 and lived in Woodside, Queens. She later moved to Kearny where she lived for over fifty years, making many friends and memories along the way. She moved to Berkeley Township two years ago

Mary worked for New Jersey Bell at 547 Broad Street in Newark, NJ for many years before retiring.

Mary loved listening to Irish music with her family and dancing away. She won many awards in Irish dancing when she came to America.  She loved to bowl back in the day at Yeager’s in Harrison NJ and loved her glass of wine and, misty cigarettes, cups of tea and sweet deserts. Swedish Fish were her favorites!  Atlantic City was one of her favorite places where she would play the slot machines for hours.

Miss Boyce was cared for by the Malley family for the last six years, Lori Ann, John, Liam (the son she never had) and Logan who will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Bridget (Gormley) Boyce and her siblings, Christopher, Robert, Mona, Kathleen, Peggy and Betty.

She leaves her two beloved dogs, Lola and Leah.
